Group Leaders - Meeting [summary]
To all group leaders: there is an orientation meeting for the English German Student Council. We are now part of a combined student council. Please go to Lecture room 1 at 1800 hrs on Tuesday 20th Feb 2007. All group leaders are invited, so spread the news.
Group Leaders - Meeting
Greetings for the new semester! We are pleased to inform you that the English and German Student councils have now merged. All of you are part of a larger, more powerful student body appropriately called the English-German Student Council (EGSC). We apologize for not informing you fully of this change while it was in progression. Our main reason for this was that we desired to accomplish this sensitive transition in the least possible time.

We have successfully fused the two bodies with minimum friction between the German and English leadership. There is also a change in the make up of the new student council. There are more executive positions in the new student council, which have been filled under mutual discussion with the German and English student council leaders.  We agree that it may be unorthodox to give such positions undemocratically however we hope you realize that this was the only possible way for a smooth transfer. The present posts in the student council are provisional. In the future we hope to have a stable functioning body which can make these decisions democratically.

An orientation meeting will be held on Tuesday 20th February 2007 at 18:00hrs in Lecture room 1. We request you to attend. All your queries will be attended. We will inform you about our latest activities, the new benefits which we receive, and various other plans of action. We will also like to discuss your views and suggestions for this new student council.
Please come to our meeting.

Lost your Dean's? Get it back
Thanks to the generous efforts of Mr. Beck and the EGPSC (English German Program Student Council), those students who lost their D chance due to problems with signing up can now have it reinstated. However, a fee of 11.000 HUF must be paid in order for this measure to be effective. IMPORTANT - Deadline is next Friday, the 24th of February.
ETR and you
Please take some time to update your home (Hungary!) and e-mail addresses on the ETR. I know everything is in Hungarian, and believe me, if I had gotten a penny for everytime a student complains about this I would be a millionaire. But it is for you own sake. And PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR MAILBOX. It has happened before that important mail from the university did not reach its destination for something as insignificant as this - think about that.
Reshaping the system
We will soon be reshaping the student council organization system. All positions will be nominated by the current ruling body of the council, that means, no applications and no voting (at least for now, but in the future, most likely this is how things will be taken care of).
Immigration office will get you - IMPORTANT
Please take care of your immigration papers. If you keep postponing this matter, not only will you be at risk of ending up being literally "kicked out" of the country, but also not being able to sit for your exams. Yes, you read that correctly, from now on, if you do not show proof of your legal status in Hungary to Lívia, you will not be handed in your Index, and hence, you will not be able to take your exams. So keep that in mind, be a good student and citizen, and do what you must do. Look out for what is needed to legalize your immigration by either visiting this website or speaking to the Office, hopefully in a near future.
Exam Period Is Over
Let out your fireworks, weep and roll around on the floor or jump for joy. The bottom line is - it's over. Exam period is officially over and our lives are back where they should be.
And just a fine reminder why you shouldn't push the drinking this Friday night in case you didn't finish taking care of your paperwork:

Attention!
The Registrar's Department will be open on Saturday, February 03, 2007 between 9-16 o'clock!

And that is taken from the etr website. Beware!
Enjoy!
