guys, its that time of the year again: City Race!
• The race will be on the 20th, so next saturday!
• The afterparty will be at Dante.
• There will be possible to buy tickets only for the afterparty as well.
• And the tickets will be sold in the beginning of next week.
• The schedule of the whole day is not finished yet, but i hope it will be during this weekend..
The City Race kicks off at 10.30 A.M. @ Baberkan Ter. which is the plaza in front of the four-steepled cathedral!
The City Race After-Party kicks off at 9.00 P.M.!
Tickets for the City Race+After-Party cost 4000.-, the tickets for the after-party only cost 500.-

- Welcome address by Péter Tasnádi, Mayor of Pécs
- Introduction of upcoming events for Welcome Week
19.30: Dancing University- introductory program
Venue: Medical School, Dr. Romhányi György Aula, Pécs, Szigeti út 12.
The Dancing University of the University of Pécs is a unique initiative in Hungarian higher education. Students from any faculty are more than welcome to take up lessons in dancing, with about 20 different styles from which to choose. We hope our show will spark your interest in dancing with us!

18.00: Visit to the Central University Library
Venue: Pécs, Szepesy Ignác utca 1-3.
We will introduce to you the services provided by our central library. Also, we’ll show you the installation of the History of Dentistry.
19.30 – 21.30: Hungarian Folk Dance-House
Venue: Aula at the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences, Pécs, Ifjúság útja 6.
Special evening with loads of fun and wonderful traditional music. Learn about the Hungarian culture by joining in on traditional Hungarian dances.
Wednesday 17, September
15.00: Opening Ceremony of the 2008/2009 Academic Year
Venue: Medical School, Dr. Romhányi György Aula, Pécs, Szigeti út 12.
Opening address by the Rector of the university. Oath of the freshmen of the university.
18.00 – 19.30: Sightseeing Tour (in English and German)
Venue: Centre of Pécs, meeting point: entrance of the Cathedral, Szent István Square
City tour with English and German speaking tour guides. Introduction to the sites of Pécs with a special focus on the Old City and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sights.
20.30 - 04:00: DJ Party in Szenes Club
Venue: University of Pécs, Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences, Szenes Club, Pécs, Ifjúság útja 6. Building A
Dance party with DJ-s in one of the oldest and most popular student clubs in Pécs – Szenes Club. This is a must-see! You don’t want to miss out on a great time!
Thursday 18, September
16.30 – 22.00: Sporting Events and Games
Venue: Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences, Ifjúság University Sport Complex, Pécs, Ifjúság útja 6.
Come and win for your nation! Let’s see who’s the best!
Soccer-, Basketball-, Table-tennis- tournaments, Aerobics session, Swimming and Water Games (see details and registration info attached).
22.00 – 04.00: Night Squash Tournament
Venue: Mecsek Squash Center, Pécs, Ybl M. u. 10. (Mecsek Áruház 3. floor)
Are you good at squash? Have you ever played at night?
Teams of 4 members can enroll. A maximum of 20 teams can play throughout the night.

19.00: „Treasure Hunt”
Venue: Centre of Pécs, meeting point: entrance of the Cathedral, Szent István Square
Find out more about Pécs with a funny and interactive quiz right in the city centre. Don’t miss it! We have fun prizes for the winners! Afterwards join the festivities of the Pécs Days Festival downtown.
Saturday 20, September
11.00 – 20.00: Hiking Trip in Mecsek Hills
Meeting point: Boszorkány Dormitory, Pécs, Boszorkány u. 2.
Come for a hike in the beautiful Mecsek Hills followed by a special Hungarian flavoured barbecue. Beautiful landscapes combined with unique tastes. This is a chance to relax with nature after this busy week. Everyone is welcome, no matter if you’re an amateur or pro at hiking.
Route: Boszorkány Dormitory – Jakabhegyi Street – Éger Valley – Jakab Hill – Éger Valley – Boszorkány Dormitory
