News from the Registrar´s Office
Hi!

Since we upgraded to ETR 3.0, the ETR website has a totally new outlook. We highly recommend you to take a look before you start fighting for your exam places.
Also some students came in reporting that - possibly due to the upgrade - their stored password for this site has disappeared from their computer. Please make sure that you remember your username and password, and that they actually work - well before the exam period starts! If you need a new password, contact the Registrar's Office.
This is also to officially inform you that in this semester there will be no group signing up - so when the ETR opens for the exam period, you will have to fight for your places online. At the moment we suppose that the ETR will not open before May 05. In a following e-mail we will inform everyone about the exact date and time of the opening.

Sincerely

August Exam Period Update and the Lottery
August Exam Period
Your student council, the English-German Programme Student Council, is pushing for the reinstatement of the August Exam Period for the 2007/2008 academic year.  The EGSC leaders (all the year representatives, ANSA, and Norwegian Doctor's Association) met with Professors Csernus and Németh last week to discuss the issue and they both gave their support to have it reinstated for the international students.  Our next step is to plead our case to the University Senate (the body that oversees all faculties of the university) where the final decision will be made.  This meeting shall take place later this week.  We will update you as soon as possible.

No Lottery
This year there will be no lottery for any class or programme.  There are far too many students for the Registrar's Office to handle this massive request to plug students into ETR. It is complicated by the fact that many subjects have combined spaces with all three language programmes.  We are sorry for this inconvenience, but we triedSad
However, for their hard work and dedication to the students the group leaders and year representatives will be able to reserve their chosen exam spot on ETR. A small perk that has for a long time been part of the student council.
A Proper Celebration
In celebration of BRY's Corner's first year in existence, I've just finished performing numerous heavy-duty updates to my corner in general as well as to the services I provide within. These updates are by far the most extensive updates to BRY's corner to this date, and it has taken me more hours of work than I'm willing to admit.

First and foremost. I've redesigned the basic layout of all the pages of my corner to provide better access to their contents. After thoroughly reassessing the utilization of the empty spaces and closely monitoring the pattern of usage of my corner this past year, I personally feel that the new layout harness the capabilities of this web site to it's fullest. Though you are bound to be the final judges in this matter, I hope that the new design will give you an even better user experience when spending some time at BRY's Corner in the future.

Furthermore. I've designed brand new cover pages for most of the third year exam notes that I'm currently providing here at this web site, and updated the preview images on their respective pages as well as the exam notes themselves to feature these cover pages. Though these cover pages are not essential to the learning process, I would still like to believe that they heighten the experience of picking up a fresh set of my exam notes for the first time.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I've at long last made my pharmacology third semester exam notes available for download. This has been a highly requested set of exam notes both from you as students here at Pécs Medical School as well as from the students studying outside the borders of Hungary, and I'm proud to finally be able to present this set of exam notes to you.

I hope that these updates properly illustrate how grateful I am for all the success you've bought me this past year, and I hope that they will further aid you in your quest of becoming the best possible medical professionals.

Yours sincerely,

One Year of BRY's Exam Notes
Last week BRY's Corner celebrated it's first year in existence. As I now take some time and look back to when I first launched my corner as a permanent addition to this web site, I'm blown away by the unbelievable success this past year has brought both to me as an individual and to this web site as a whole.

When I first made the decision to take my exam notes public, my goal was to deliver 1000 sets of exam notes within the first year. Whoa was I wrong Happy Since the first set of exam notes appeared on this web site in late March last year, more than 10.000 sets of my exam notes have been downloaded by you as medical students. That is an actual download rate exceeding my original expectations tenfold!

From a technical point of view, these 10.000 sets of exam notes downloaded translates to more than 150 gigabytes of data having been transfered from our servers to your respective computers. That equals a staggering 200 CDs choked full of information being delivered to you as medical students this past year alone!

In addition to this. Since my corner first appeared on this web site, my exam notes have been climbing steadily on the Google ranks to reach the virtually unattainable position of top ranked earlier this year. That is, if you search for any of the exam notes I am currently providing at this web site, my exam notes will be the very first hit on the Google results page in close to every single last case. Most large corporations use hundreds of thousands of dollars over several years just to get within the first 10 hits on the Google results page, and for me as a private person to reach the pole position is absolutely astounding!

And if that was not enough. When I first sat down to write my exam notes as well as when I decided to make my exam notes available here at this web site, I was doing it exclusively for you as students here at Pécs Medical School. But during the past 12 months, my exam notes have found their way into the hands of hundreds of medical students all over the world. Right now students in Australia, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, India, Romania, South Africa and the United States of America, just to mention a few, are using my exam notes on a daily basis to pass their respective exams in their home countries. I'm startled about the sheer amount of medical students outside this university having a hard-copy of my exam notes lying around, and the success these students have experienced by using my exam notes in the preparation for their individual exams continues to amaze me!

On behalf of myself I would like to thank all of you who have assisted in making this possible, and wish you the very best of luck in all of your exams to come.

Yours sincerely,
Brynjar Saunes Bye
