CHRISTMAS EVENING

Dear students,

We would cordially like to invite you for an after-Anatomy Christmas get-together this Friday (3rd of December 2010), from 2pm to 8pm downstairs in the schools’ cafeteria, next to the book shop.

We will sell nice mulled wine as well as gingerbread and cookies. All profits go to the victims of the red sludge catastrophe, who still need our support since the donations recently receded.

Hope to see you there and spend a nice evening together with all three programs!

At 12.30h there will be the inauguration of a bronze plaque at the entrance of the Department of Biophysics. We will hear the thoughts of the Rector of the University of Pécs, Dr. József Bódis, as well as from the President of the eHÖK, Ferenc Herendi. Following the initiation, there will be a quiet candle ignition at 19.00h in front of the Department of Biophysics.

The EGSC will lay a wreath on behalf of all English and German Students. We shall never forget that one of us died, and always be aware of the importance of the need for watching out for each other.

Confabula Premier Party!

Lépcsőház 10.00 pm, Tuesday, October 26th, 2010. We hope many of you will join us for the Premier of the New Confabula! This evening will be the debut of the revised magazine. For this first issue, two articles will be published in English (interview with Prof. Lajos Bogár, anesthesiologist and an article about the Red Sludge Catastrophe). We are looking forward to more foreign participants in the future, so if you’re interested, feel free to contact us! The party’s complete entrance fee (500 HUF) will be donated to the red sludge victims, and an additional 50-50 HUF will be donated from each Vodka shot (250 HUF) and Vodka-Bomba drink (400 HUF)! Looking forward to seeing you!

Confabula is a free student magazine of the Medical University of Pécs, published three times per semester. A student lifestyle magazine, Confabula provides articles about the different programs of the University and in Pécs as well. It includes interviews with professors and Hungarian celebrities, but also features novels, articles, poetry etc. written by our very own authors! The new Confabula was started on the premises of giving some insight to student life in Pécs and reaching out to students from the foreign programs. We are looking for foreign students interested in becoming a part of our magazine, thus helping to establish relations between the three programs.

Commemoration

On the 22nd of October (Friday) 2010 we will remember those who, after their death, served the education of medical students. The commemoration will start with a ceremony in the chapel of the cemetery (temetö Pécs) at 3:00 p.m. Thereafter, we will walk out to the graveyard of the University together, where a short ecumenical ceremony will be held. We will wreathe the monument erected to those who served the education. We would appreciate if the students attended the commemoration. Flower and candles will be provided by the Department of Anatomy. (You may get to the cemetery (Siklósi st. 43.)by bus, just take No. 6 or 7 from Árkád, both will stop at the main gate of the cemetary).
